Overview

The Shining 3D EinScan Libre is a compact all-in-one laser 3D scanner providing a fully wireless, markerless, and full-color 3D scanning experience. The model is engineered with two light sources, combining the infrared VCSEL and Blue Laser scanning technologies in a single device. As a completely wireless solution powered by a large built-in touchscreen and potent NVIDIA processor, the Libre model offers the perfect balance of freedom and efficiency. The scanner does not require a powerful PC and provides a complete on-device workflow. It enables one to scan, edit, save, and share high-quality data through integrated EXScan Libre software, ensuring reliable results with versatile, user-friendly operation.

Due to the integrated 48MP color camera, the EinScan Libre is capable of making full-color scans, while ensuring flawless indoor and outdoor performance even in bright light. Libre’s portable design with two rechargeable batteries ensures comfortable wireless operation with scanning time of 3 hours. Considering its bright and clear 5.5'' HD OLED screen, intuitive controls, potent software, and long-term standalone operation, the EinScan Libre guarantees a smooth 3D scanning workflow for both beginners and experienced users.

Scan accuracy

The resolution provided by the EinScan Libre varies depending on the selected scanning mode. In IR modes, the point distance is 0.5–10 mm. Laser HD mode allows you to create point clouds with a point distance of 0.05–3.0 mm.

Another pleasant feature of the Libre scanner is its ability to capture black and metal objects without special sprays. Thus, one can easily scan cars, car parts, tires, and other black or metal objects to get the desired model effect.

Scanning modes

Combining two scanning technologies in a single device, the EinScan Libre offers three flexible scanning modes to cover object sizes ranging from 0.1 m to over 10 m. These IR (infrared) and laser modes help the scanner adapt to all kinds of materials, whether you are indoors or outdoors in direct sunlight.

Laser HD mode based on the blue laser light source is meant for marker-free, high-detailed scanning with rich texture. With its revolutionary 101 laser lines, this mode provides resolution up to 0.05 mm and supports texture alignment.

IR Rapid Mode is realized through the VCSEL projector. Ideal for larger areas (FOV of 983 x 979 mm, with a working distance up to 1.5 m), this mode is designed for marker-free and high-efficiency scanning with invisible, eye-safe infrared light. It is less sensitive to ambient light, making it perfect for outdoor use.

IR Adaptive Mode is perfect for reflective and black surfaces, delivering reliable results with its 38 IR laser lines.

Scan volume

The EinScan Libre features three versatile scanning modes, which makes for a flexible scanning range for rendering objects of different sizes. The scanner’s working distance varies from 200–500 mm in Laser HD mode to 500–1500 mm in IR Rapid mode. This allows Libre to effectively capture both small and large objects, such as a real-size car without a loss of precision and detail.

Scanner controls

To begin using the EinScan Libre 3D scanner, just turn it on and start scanning, no cables or PC needed. You can see your scans with outstanding clarity on Libre’s large built-in 5.5'' HD OLED touchscreen.

Before the first use, you need to complete the calibration process, following the built-in software prompts. Once you’ve calibrated the device, you can proceed with scanning.

Software

Engineered with USB Type-C, USB 3.0, and lightning-fast Wi-Fi 6 connectivity, the EinScan Libre 3D scanner can rapidly export scans in the most common file formats, such as PLY, OBJ, STL, ASC, and LAS.

Due to its enhanced PC integration, the EinScan Libre delivers smooth performance and flexible workflow without the need for high-spec computers. The scanner boasts multi-tasking capabilities that allow one to go beyond single-threaded operations. Alongside with advanced multi-resolution fusion, the device supports multiple coordinate alignment methods as well as distance, surface area, and volume calculations.

The EinScan Libre model comes with the proprietary EXModel PC software, which is an ultimate solution for 3D data management and post-processing. With the integration of EXScan Libre, one can seamlessly import data to EXModel with a single click after completing a scan.
